The Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication (AIJC) is a Knowledge Management Center organized in 1980 as a graduate school of journalism, founded on the philosophy that communication is a vital development resource to be used to advance the common good.
Today, AIJC has a solid record of more than thirty years in the communication field – as a graduate school for communicators and journalists, a center for continuing education in journalism, communication, and knowledge management, and a research and project management firm advocating policies and implementing programs and projects that address development issues and concerns both at the levels of national decision-making and community-based initiatives.
The ICT for Development (ICT4D) Unit of AIJC promotes the strategic use of ICT in various human development endeavors. Program areas include content development, capability-building, and research focused on the impact of ICT on the socio-cultural, economic and political dimensions of society.
Amidst the technology-driven shifts in today’s media landscape, AIJC has strengthened its institutional capacity through its strategic alliance with Now Corporation, a Philippine Stock Exchange publicly-listed telecommunications, media and technology company.
AIJC is now gearing up to reinventing its programs and services to make them more relevant and responsive to a fast-evolving Knowledge Society while remaining committed to its mandate of communication for development.
AIJC is an exemplary center of choice in Asia for higher learning, research, and innovation in journalism, communication, and knowledge management and a facilitator, catalyst, and change agent for an empowered society.
AIJC, a non-stock, non-profit organization, is committed to advance the power of communication to promote the common good.
It will accomplish this through advanced learning, research, and innovation for more empowered, enlightened, and responsible leadership in the communication sector and society at large.
The Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication (AIJC) is a communication institution whose sphere of operation covers the Philippines and the ASEAN region. We provide graduate education in journalism and communication management; conduct professional enhancement training for journalists, communicators, and development managers; and undertake communication policy research and project management activities on strategic communication planning, organizational communication audit, communication and training materials development, and related development communication projects. In all the things we do, our passion is the belief that communication, information and knowledge are development resources that must be available to all people.
Partnering with us provides strategic advantages. Special arrangements can be crafted to facilitate this partnership, such as the conduct of training and research. We have successfully partnered with academic institutions, development agencies, media organizations and business corporate organizations with parallel or complementary goals.
