Course Title: Craft of Communication (200)
Schedule of Offering: 1st Trimester AY 2018-2019
Professor: Madeline B. Quiamco, PhD
Schedule of Classes: Saturday 9:00am – 12:00 nn
Course Description: The course is an innovative attempt to further develop in the student all the four primary communication skills—writing, speaking, listening, and reading. This is to enhance their capacity to communicate as they pursue their graduate studies or perform their functions as professionals in any field.
Writing and speaking skills are developed by most communication school curricula, since effective writing and speaking are obvious hallmarks of the superior communicator. Listening and reading are seldom given the same attention as writing and speaking, although these are just as important because they enable the communicator to gather inputs for and feedback on their written and spoken communication.
This course seeks to fill this deficiency and strengthen the students’ primary communication skills to improve subsequent professional performance as communicators.
