Journalists discuss labor migration reporting

Community journalists of the Philippine Press Institute (PPI) recently met online with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication (AIJC) to discuss the need for increased coverage of labor migration issues.

The webinar-orientation on labor migration, held on May 14, 2021, was organized by ILO and AIJC in partnership with PPI under the Fair Recruitment Initiative program of ILO.

Also during the webinar, the “Best in Reporting on Migration Issues” category for the annual PPI Civic Journalism Community Press Awards was launched.

Resource persons during the meeting were Hussein Macarambon, ILO Project Coordinator; Charles Autheman, ILO Media and Migration Consultant; Dr. Thomas Aquino, AIJC Trustee and NOW Corporation Chair; Ariel Sebellino, PPI Executive Director; and Ann Lourdes Lopez, AIJC Senior Director.
