For the fourth year in a row, the International Labour Organization (ILO) has supported the selection of “Best in Reporting on Migration Issues” among community newspapers nationwide, as part of the annual Philippine Press Institute (PPI) Community Press Awards.

This year, Panay News, Iloilo City (Daily) and Samar Weekly Express, Catbalogan, Samar (Weekly) won in this category and received their trophies in awarding rites of the 2023 PPI Awards held on April 25 at the Century Park Hotel, Manila.

The migration reporting initiative is part of a partnership project of the ILO Ship to Shore Rights Southeast Asia with the Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication (AIJC), supported by the European Union.

ILO provided support for the awards category in the first year of implementation through its Integrated Programme on Fair Recruitment (FAIR).
