Journalism teachers coached on teaching Labor Migration Reporting

Paris-based Media and Migration Consultant Charles Autheman has kicked off a series of one-on-one online sessions with journalism teachers who will pilot-teach the elective course, Reporting on Labor Migration, in the first semester of the incoming academic year 2021-2022

The first session was held with College of Arts and Sciences Dean Leonor Hernando and Journalism Program Coordinator Rosario Barrios of the Colegio de San Lorenzo in Quezon City last June 15, 2021. More sessions with other higher education institutions (HEIs) are scheduled up to July.

The one-on-one sessions are part of the ILO-AIJC partnership on the project, Fair Recruitment Initiative, which builds the capacity of HEI teachers to teach Reporting on Labor Migration with the course syllabus developed under the project.

Group coaching sessions and a webinar on labor migration were earlier conducted for the HEI journalism teachers. Resource persons included Autheman, ILO National Project Coordinator Hussein Macarambon, and AIJC Senior Director Ann Lourdes Lopez
