AIJC, CCLFI Offer Online Course for Knowledge Management Certification

THE Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication (AIJC) and Community and Corporate Learning for Innovation, Inc. (CCLFI) are jointly offering the online-mentored Knowledge Management Practitioner Certification Course to help organizations manage their knowledge assets for more effective decisions and actions.

This course runs for 18 weeks and features workplace practice of 30 basic KM skills. It includes an in-depth workplace practicum that will directly benefit the organization.

The course will start on July 6. It is designed to adjust to the working schedules of participants, especially now that more organizations are implementing a flexible working arrangement for employees. It can be pursued at the convenience of the participant and will only require about three hours per week.

The modules will start with definitions of KM and an orientation on the KM framework. Sessions will be conducted on managing tacit and explicit knowledge, learning how to align KM with organizational objectives, recognizing demand-driven KM, and selecting the right KM tool for the organization. Other modules are on organizational learning, innovating organizational and individual practices, managing intellectual capital, doing KM assessments, and action planning for the KM practicum.

KM experts Dr. Serafin D. Talisayon and Dr. Daan Boom, who each have over two decades of KM experiences, will handle the online mentoring activities. They have conducted the course for years and are looking forward to training the next batch of KM practitioners.

“Now more than ever, organizations must strengthen their KM systems as these will enable them to seamlessly shift into the new normal with the least disruption and cost to the company,” said Ramon R. Tuazon, AIJC president. “We partnered with CCLFI knowing full well that they are the experts in KM, and both our institutions recognize how important KM is in the global knowledge economy.”

Talisayon, CCLFI’s Director for R&D, added that the course “has almost 200 graduates from 30 countries since the course was introduced in 2013” and that “graduates of previous classes from Asia, Europe, Africa, North and South America had expressed satisfaction from the course.”

Course fee is PHP36,800.00 for Philippine-based participants, and USD1,035.00 for those from overseas. A special discount applies for registrants who pay the fee before the course starts. Enrolments of at least five participants from a single organization will be entitled to a group discount.

AIJC’s Professional Development Program Unit staff Mae Lubid at 0999-9180478 or Virgie Nieva at 0910-956-4573 may be reached for further inquiries about the course. (END)
