DOH officials and staff complete training on Risk Communication

Forty-four personnel from the Department of Health (DOH) participated in the Training on Risk Communication held on 28-30 October 2015 at the BSA Twin Towers, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City.

DOH regional and assistant regional directors, chiefs of hospitals and medical centers, health officers from the Health Promotion and Communication Service, and staff members of Health Emergency Management Bureau (HEMB) participated in the three-day program organized by HEMB with the Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication (AIJC).

The training aimed to equip participants with adequate knowledge about risk management in the context of health emergencies, as well as build up confidence and competence in crafting and delivering risk communication messages to the public through oral presentations and media appearances.

Participants found the training useful and well managed. Dr. Unity Cortez of the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center commented, “All modules are relevant and the participants are filled with so much enthusiasm. There are no boring or idle moments.”

HEMB Director Dr. Gloria Balboa commended and thanked the participants for completing the course and encouraged them to apply their learning gains from the training.
